Epilepsy medications work by interrupting pain signals to the brain. Gabapentin (gabantin 300mg) and pregabalin (neuro seliron 300mg). These medications may help with fibromyalgia and nerve pain. Antidepressants function by affecting brain chemicals known as neurotransmitters. These medications are most effective for persistent pain, such as migraines. Tricyclics (Elavil) and serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) like Effexor and Cymbalta provide the most pain alleviation.
